Software testing is poorly organised at many companies

The great majority of European companies do not question the importance of software testing as an essential part of a successful and efficient business. However, at the same time there is little transparency in most organisations as to the resources they use for this purpose. This is shown by the latest study, the International Software Testing Survey, by the IT analysts at Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC).
SQS AG doubles profits, boosts sales by over 50%

SQS Software Quality Systems AG (AIM: SQS.L, Open Market: ISIN DE0005493514) achieved in financial year 2007 the best result in the company’s history, exceeding its targets. While turnover rose by 53% to €121.1m, adjusted profit before tax nearly doubled, rising by 96% to €10.5m.
SQS Software Quality Systems to start testing IT systems in Egypt from summer 2008

SQS Software Quality Systems has opened a test centre in Cairo, which will initially start with a staff of about 25. Almost all of the test experts based there will also speak fluent German as well as English.

This year, the 13th Software & Systems Quality Conference is being held from 15 to 18 April 2008. For the first time, a partner country—Egypt—is presenting itself at the four-day rendezvous for business and quality experts.
SQS takes over insurance and IT specialists Triton

software quality management and testing services, has taken over Triton Unternehmensberatung GmbH for 15.5 million euros.
Triton is a service provider specialising in IT consultancy in the insurance field.
Black Duck and SQS prevent unintentional licence infringements

The tool developer Black Duck Software and the consulting house SQS Software Quality Systems AG have put together a joint
service package dealing with licence compliance management. The solution protects companies against unintentional licence
infringements when using software they have developed themselves. It also enables companies to check that there are no legal
doubts about components which they obtain from external third parties. Black Duck and SQS have signed a partnership
agreement to put the package in place.
SQS safeguards the switch to Microsoft® Vista

SQS Software Quality Systems has assembled a service package for the changeover to the Microsoft® Vista operating system
with VistaMAP (Vista Migration Assurance Plan). The services provided by the SQS quality experts ensure that companies are able
to continue using their applications, data and operational sequences with the new platform without a hiccup. This systematic
migration method saves time and expense compared with a more intuitive approach. As well as that, VistaMAP reduces the risks
of system operation under Vista.
SQS is now also testing software offshore

SQS Software Quality Systems AG is now also conducting software tests offshore, with immediate effect. The team at the new branch
in Durban, South Africa, is ready and waiting. The 40 test experts have already been working as quality assurance consultants
for two years—until now mainly for British companies. In its previous offshore projects SQS was able to reduce the test
costs for the British customers by an average of 30 per cent. By the end of the year, SQS AG intends to expand its presence to
at least 70 employees, above all by recruiting German-speaking experts.
SQS AG celebrates its 25th anniversary

This year, SQS Software Quality Systems AG is reaching the landmark of a quarter of a century in business. The highpoint of
the festivities celebrating the company’s 25 years of existence is a gala on 4 May in the Gürzenich congress
centre in Cologne. The listed company, which has its headquarters in Cologne, will be welcoming 300 guests from seven
countries to a varied programme including a podium discussion, film, gala dinner and dancing. The Mayor of Cologne Fritz
Schramma will be among the speakers, while the appearance of circus director André Sarrasani and his white tigers
will provide spine-tingling entertainment.
SQS AG increases profits by 44 per cent

SQS Software Quality Systems AG (AIM: SQS.L, Entry Standard: ISIN DE0005493514) increased both sales and profits by some 44
per cent in the 2006 financial year. Sales amounted to 78.9 million euros last year, while adjusted profits before tax grew
to 5.3 million euros.
