Aside from comprehensive professional support we also hold regular social occasions, including seminars and off-site team building events.

Portrait Consultant Alexander König

Alexander König

I have been working as a consultant for SQS in Germany since October 2006. Before I started at SQS I had been developing software and managing software projects for five years after graduating from the Academy for Data Processing in Böblingen, Germany, as a certified computer scientist. In parallel, I also completed my degree in business management.

Thus, I had already gained a good deal of experience in the entire software development process, but I wanted to further my career. With SQS I found a company which was not only large enough to offer new perspectives, but which has already given me the opportunity to work in numerous interesting projects, especially in the automotive industry.

For these projects my knowledge on programming languages like Visual Basic, C++, or Java and on data bases, as well as my experience with quality management standards and methods like the v-model or Software-Life-Cycle are very useful since they help me understand the challenges and the developers’ tasks and responses.

I particularly enjoyed taking part in a project for a well-known German car maker who we supported in defect management. There, I was given an insight into how this large group works and also got an idea of the new technologies used in the automotive industry. Another highlight was a project for a company producing headlights for vehicles. We helped to improve software processes, taking into account the various factors influencing the shaping of business processes. Reacting to these factors, like the management’s demands on cost efficiency, is always very demanding. At the same time it is challenges like these which make my job extremely fascinating. I also appreciate how much responsibility I am given on my projects, where I can introduce my own ideas into my work every day.

For these reasons I really enjoy working for SQS. On top of this, the company culture also appeals to me. I like the fact that I can exchange information with my colleagues and also with the management directly. The atmosphere in our offices is very cooperative and is intensified by the internal meetings we have on a regular basis. They are always great occasions for receiving new information and meeting colleagues from other projects.

My plans for the future at SQS are quite clear: I would like to become a senior consultant and then work my way up to become a delivery manager, dealing directly with the clients and managing entire projects.
